Before beginning mark the area where the nail will be set and use the powered gun to force the nail into the concrete.
How to put a nail into a concrete wall.
If you encounter an obstruction stop the drill and remove it from the hole then insert a masonry nail with the tip touching the block.
Drill a pilot hole into the concrete wall using a drill and masonry bit.
Insert concrete or masonry nails into the holes and drive them flush to the surface of the wood using a framing hammer.
If the nail stops before its head reaches the surface no amount of pounding will help.
Tap the masonry nail lightly with a hammer to break up the obstruction but do not drive the nail in completely.
Continue striking the hammer until the nail is driven in to where you want it.
Tip 4 shanks.
Hammer the nail into the anchor.
Tip 3 powered nail gun.
Use carefully aimed hammer strikes to drive the nail into the concrete wall so you don t miss and bend the nail or strike the wall and damage it.
Remove the nail and resume drilling.
High air pressured or electric nail guns will definitely get the job done.
Drive the masonry nail into the concrete wall with the hammer.
Instead remove the nail and drill deeper or widen the hole.
The hole should be the same size in diameter as the masonry nail anchor.
A heavy hammer will give the right amount of power and leverage behind it and create the exact force needed for the nail to penetrate the concrete.
Use at least a two pound hammer.
