Some locksmiths also put a tiny upward bend into the tip of the pick. First make sure you have a door lock that has a pinhole on the outside. For the first pick you are going to make what s called a rake. Make anywhere from 2 to 5 of these bends.

Slide the lock pick your first hairpin into the lock just above the lever.

You simply need a straight stiff. Then insert it into the gap in the door and feed it behind the latch. Keep feeding it through until the end of the paper clip comes back out the front where you can reach it. To do this unfold the large edge of your paperclip twice until a straight portion juts out.
