Disengage the door from the opener and carefully lift the door up.
Push it up at the same time and slowly taking care to not overextend your back or stand underneath the door while it isn t secured as this could cause serious injury.
Slide the right spring onto the bar and press the bearing into the stationary cone.
After you then disconnect the safety cable from one end.
Slide the torsion bar to the left then add the center bearing.
You will have to open the door manually.
Secure the door open preferably using c clamps.
Get help from a second person.
Pry the door high enough so you can grab the bottom edge of the garage door with your hands.
Insert each pry bar under the corner of the door between the door and the floor.
Each of you should insert these on opposite ends of the door at the same time prying it up enough to grab onto the bottom edge with your hands.
Pull up on the pry bars to allow you and your helper to grab the door underneath with your hands.
Grab one yourself and get a helping hand to grab the other.
Step 3 lift the door up together maintaining an equal balance until the door is fully open.
If your garage door has a broken spring and you must take your cars out of the garage or open it for any reason the best and safest thing to do although not recommended is to open it manually.
Now each of you should insert the crowbars on opposite ends of the garage door at the same time.
Connect both of the stationary cones to the center bracket with the nuts and bolts you removed previously.
Install the center bearing and the right spring then secure the cones.
Protect your back be careful not to pinch your fingers and don t let the door fall on your feet.
Get two crowbars or pry bars.
