If your tiles aren t lifting they may have nails holding them in place.
How to lift a roof tile.
Begin by lifting up the next door overlapping tile.
If the roof has a steep slope battens may be required to hold the tiles in place.
Once you have safely gotten to the broken tile.
Install battens if applicable.
Only do this if you know it can be done safely using a stable ladder and perhaps even using.
In the majority of cases you will not be saving on labor costs.
Your existing tile will then be put back on the roof and any tiles that were damaged or missing will be replaced during this process.
The underlayment will then be replaced and new flashing will be installed.
The existing tiles will be lifted off of the roof.
Get onto the roof.
Ensure you have the correct replacement tile as there are many different roof tiles on the market.
The amount of time and effort exerted to completely replace a tile roof versus lifting the old tile moving it replacing the underlayment and flashings then re installing the old tile is virtually identical.
The way a lift and relay process works is relatively simple.
